Artist Craig Davison has become very collectible with his limited edition artworks, depicting well known people through the children in his pictures. The artwork is available on canvas, paper or framed.Born in Sheffield in 1965. Craig loved art at school, but once he left he took it no further. In the late 80’s he started using his artistic skills as a cartoonist, working on pre-school comics such as The Shoe People, The Wombles, Huxley Pig ..Craig’s artistic talent moved onto sculpting, and as a freelance sculpture, sculpted dragons to teddies, animals to action figures for ranges such as Me To You, Enchantica, Harry Potter and Doctor Who.In late 2007 he noticed a contest in which Washington Green hoped to find Alexander Millar an apprentice. Craig had always wanted to try his hand at painting. He finished in the last three! That was it, the life of an artist beckoned.A gallery of loveable children is captured through the recreation of northern artist ~ Craig Davison’s recollections of growing up on the streets of 1970s Sheffield. His art is a great amalgamation of comic book styles and influences which are both interesting and also unashamedly nostalgic. This scruffy, happy and energetic child comes alive in his paintings and all limited edition prints.
